Bright Biomethane’s Maarten Holtkamp speaker at International Biogas Congress & Expo in Brussels
Sales Director Maarten Holtkamp of Bright Biomethane will be speaking at the International Biogas Congress & Expo in Brussels on Wednesday October 23 at 10.30h. He will discuss the case study of Belgium’s first biomethane plant supplied by Bright Biomethane. With the supply of Bright Biomethane’s system last year, Belgium’s first biomethane-to-grid was a fact. The biomethane system uses membrane technology to upgrade the biogas to 91 Nm3 biomethane per hour, equivalent to the annual natural gas consumption of 350 households. The biogas is produced from the anaerobic digestion of garden, fruit and vegetable waste (GFV) from more than half million residents of the Kempen area. Maarten Holtkamp (32) is sales director of Bright Biomethane, a Dutch company specialized in biogas upgrading systems using membrane separation technology and in CO2 liquefaction systems. He graduated from the technical University of Twente in Mechanical Engineering and Advanced Technology with a major in Sustainable Energy Technology. As highly motivated young professional, Maarten is a key player in promoting and developing the biomethane market globally. Striving to go for each potential contract in existing and new markets, throughout Europe and lately also in the US, and to maintain the upward trend for the sales figures has resulted in a great market share in the rapidly developing biogas and biomethane business. Maarten is specialized in sustainable projects and growth management and is responsible for developing sales strategies. Ever since his graduation he investigates possibilities of using different streams of biomass to produce biomethane and successfully applies this knowledge today to the engineering of biomethane systems.Biography
